The color and shape of art according to "Light and Space: Art's Most Universal Movement" can have an impact on the experience of the viewer based on their personal perception of the world and memories. 

Firstly, some art can have no focus or background, but the act of trying to look for something within it that makes it art. This can be seen in the gallery in the article because many of the pieces abstractly represent aspects of Californias lightscape or very minimalist light features, yet they are very interesting and beautiful. I particularly like Dan Flavin's 1971 untitled piece because it captures the colors of a sunset and also frames blue light in a square like an artificial building. It's extremely minimalist yet still captivating.

Color and light can be used to provoke memories or personal experiences, this can be seen in Spencer Finch's 9/11 memorial which displays many different colors of blue tiles and asks the viewer what color was the sky that morning? everyone remembers differently and it is interesting to see which color tile speaks to each person.
