Barbra Kasten's Cibachrome

Logan Sudol

Kasten's work is interesting because she only uses basic shapes and structures, but she uses composition and color to make the pieces real art as opposed to just shapes. Her art uses 3D objects, oftentimes with glass panes and colored light to make unique abstract photographs.  I found a couple of her other pieces that use mirrors to add another element to the piece. Some of her work also uses household objects and junk. I found one that uses a strange wireframe structure and corrugated sheet metal. Another piece used some chrome-covered books to reflect the colored light.
