The Brief

Andrew Seiple

The OCD Box is a way for a person who doesn't have OCD to experience the effects on the brain and the body.  The box uses a combination of rubber bands, small pieces, and a countdown timer to transfer anxiety and stress to the user.

OCD stood out to us because it had a personal impact in Justin life. Someone who is effected by OCD feels stress, anxiety, and in some cases fear when something is out of place or allignment. The goal of this box is for the user to experience what it is like to have the condition, and hopefully build a deeper understanding and awareness of the disability. The first version of this box was made out of simple materials, cardboard, hot glue, and rubber bands. While our final version is made out of much more quality materials, including laser cut plywood, 3D printed pieces, and dowel rods.
