Ball Painting
By: Morgan Darling
Project Description
I was inspired by Olafur Eliasson because of his train Drawing Machine.
I wanted to create a device that would draw the motion of the ball with ink.
My device has wooden supports and it also has a triangle box to release the marble. The ramp was made out of one pool noodle. The marble was rolled in ink then released down the ramp into a box with paper. The ball rolled around the box and made a cool design.

My drawing machine was designed for the verb roll with ink as the drawing medium.
It uses ramps as a mechanism to create motion.
Sketch
Hit the spring and the ball goes down the ramp into a box. Take the handles and shake it. That is how the drawing machine works.

Version 2.0
What made me decided on version 2.0 is when Mrs. Hecker suggested we use a noodle instead of a foam ramp and I liked it. So it turned out great then we made version 3.0 for the finaL PRODUCT.
Version 2.0
What I changed was ramp height, the ramp material and the box it went in too was an actual box. The ball was changed from a larger ball to several marbles. The box no longer had handles to shake.

Version 3.0
I used a laser cutter to make this version out of wood. The shapes were more accurate. The noodle ramp length was changed to a bit shorter. One marble was used to make the drawing. Wood plank was used as a starting point. The box was shaken again once the marble rolled into it.
